Artist's Comments

Does anybody on here remember the lengthy posting about the idea of simulacra that I've put up here some time back in 2006? I think I called it "The Helen Kane of managers" or something along those lines.

Ever since back then (!) I had this image in my head, trying to depict the whole "copy of a copy/copy without an original" concept. And a few weeks back, I finally could take the shot, found place and person for it.
I did two takes on it; this is version 1. Version 2 still is in need of some work, but I'll see to it this week, I guess, so it's not that far away.

As for the model ... Julia. You've seen her before on my "Wives of Glenshire" pic and there's a gazillion of good and nice things I could say about her, but you're here for the art, right? ^^

Interesting concept; rather abstract but you've conveyed it well. I like the way you used the mirror - at least it looks like a mirror..

Thanks a lot :)
And it actually is a mirror. We did this phozo in two takes and I later composed it in photoshop.
But yeah, the metaphysical side of a mirror is a fascinating one ... the second pic we took, the one that still needs some final work, will make more use of the object being a mirror :)
